The book “Dede Gorgud epic: the concept of Khan, the metaphors of adolescence and psychological complexes” by a young scientist-folklorist, employee of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS, PhD in Philology, associate professor Safa Garayev was published.
In the book for the first time in the national Gorgud-study practice the system of meanings of the epos “The Book of Dede Gorgud” was involved in psychoanalytic research in the context of socio-anthropological approaches.
The newly presented theoretical-methodological approach manifests itself on the one hand in the definition of the subject of research as the system of meanings, on the other hand in the analysis of the plot and motives in the epos of “KDQ” and other folklore texts included in this epic tradition as a metaphorical manifestation of psychological complexes as an artifact of creative fantasy.
The first chapter of the book is called “Epic reality and metaphorical meaning in “The Book of Dede Gorgud” and the second chapter is called “Madness in “The Book of Dede Gorgud”: psycho-semantic etiology and symbolic semantics”.
One of the important methodological innovations of the study is the practice of analyzing multiple facts and conflicts in the context of Oedipus complex. Oedipus complex was studied in psychoanalytic and socio-anthropological studies as the level of socio-psychological attitude, which was one of the crucial importance in the formation of emotional reality and social identity of a person, as well as its meaningful role in creative facts.
