The scientific secretary of the Institute is doctor of philosophy on philology, assistant professor Elchin Huseynaga oglu Abbasov. E.H.Abbasov was born on the 4th of December in Jalilabad city. In 1995 he graduated from the Philology fa culty of honours with diploma at Baku State University, during 1995-1998 he studied the post-graduate course at the Institute of Literature named after Nizami ANAS. In 2008 he got the degree of doctor of philosophy on philology, but in 2011 he got the degree of assistant of professor. During 2003-2005 years E.H.Abbasov was a chief of Young Scientists Council at the Institute of Folklore. From 2007 he is the scientific secretary of the ANAS Institute of Folklore.

E.H.Abbasov is an author of a monography about different branches of folklore-study and literature-study, more than forty scientific articles, he is also a translator of some translations (two books) about the folklore, ethnography and philosophy of Eastern nations and one of the authors of the first volume of “Azerbaijan National E ncyclopedia”.
