The importance of studying folklore samples from the comparative-historical position was discussed

On the 22 nd of April the online seminar of the department “Folklore and written literature” of the Institute of Folklore of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) was held.

The head of the department “Folklore and written literature”, corresponding member of ANAS, honored scientist Kamran Aliyev said that mankind had always been interested in studying its past, proud of the achievements of the past centuries engraved on memory and material and spiritual monuments in various forms and content. Coming out of all the tests of history, a human has managed to determine the most modern values of economic, political and spiritual development by gaining a new cultural ascent. One of the areas that assist researchers in this work is folklore and mythological texts along with archaeological research. Then PhD, associate professor Fidan Gasimova's report on the theme “Tree cult in Oghuz and Celtic folklore texts” was heard. It was noted that the comparative-historical study of folklore samples is of great importance in determining the sources of human thought and understanding the essence of the closeness of peoples to one another.
