On the 24th of May 2017 the next meeting of the Presidium of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences was held. At the meeting the diplomas were given to the new elected active members and corresponding members of ANAS by the Academician Akif Alizadeh. At the meeting there were also the director of the Institute of Folklore ANAS, the academician Mukhtar Imanov and the chairman of the department “Folklore and written literature”, the corresponding member of ANAS Kamran Aliyev. At the event, ANAS President, Academician Akif Alizade congratulated the new members, wished them success in further scientific work and in implementation of the basic principles, goals and priorities of state policy, urged them to unite for the future development of the science. It is necessary to note that some problems were also discussed at the meeting, and one of them was about the changing the name of the folklore ensemble “Irs” as “Gorgud”.
