The book “Theoretical basis of the problem of public holidays and Novruz” by PhD, associate professor Shakir Albaliyev was published. The editor of the book published in “Teknur” publishing house by the decision of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS is professor Seyfeddin Rzasoy, the reviewers are associate professor Galib Sayilov, PhD Sevinj Gasimova and PhD Sevinc Gasimova. The book includes the semantic structure of the concept of “holiday”, classification of holidays, methodological issues of the holiday problem, ethno-culturological views on Novruz holiday, the role of mythical beliefs in the formation of Novruz as a system of ethno-culturological thinking, the ethno-culturological philosophy of Novruz (harmony of nature and society, ritual-mythological structure of Novruz: ceremony and symbolism, ritual-mythological mythological semantics: pre-Tuesdays, the symbolism of creation of the Novruz holiday deals with such issues as the semantics of “buta”.
