Traditions of Novruz holiday were discussed in joint program of Azerbaijan Radio and Voice of Turkey “Durna Teli”
Leading scientific worker of the department “Folklore ad written literature” of the Institute of Folklore ANAS, PhD, associate professor Aynur Ibrahimova was a guest on the live broadcast of the joint program “Durna Teli” of Azerbaijan Radio and the Voice of Turkey. She spoke about the history of Novruz, the holiday of resurrection, salvation and creation of the Turks on the day of departure from Ergenekon, which was the beginning of the calendar according to Turkish thought and its attachment to the first mythological-cosmological encounters. The program also touched upon the different perception of Novruz holiday in different communities, naming and sorting of pre-Tuesdays in different folklore environments, the diversity of Novruz texts living in oral thought and memory.
