Folklorist Seyid Mahammad Chavushian visited the Institute of Folklore

On the 17 th of September the director of the Institute of Folklore , academician Mukhtar Kazimoglu-Imanov accepted the folklorist, the master of our folk songs and mughams Seyid Mahammad Chavushian. Academician Mukhtar Kazimoglu-Imanov informed the guest about the research work done at the Institute. The guest from Tabriz mentioned the importance of collecting samples of folklore and bringing them to the attention of the public from the point of view of living our traditions and rich spiritual heritage, which our compatriots living in Iran have preserved for centuries. Seyid Mahammad Chavushian was presented the publications of the Institute of folklore, CDs, compact discs with ashug songs and eposes, printed books with notes of ancient folk songs. Seyid Mahammad Chavushian presented the audio-disc entitled “Yumurta gizin dastani” (“The epos of the egg girl”) to the academician Mukhtar Kazimoglu-Imanov. The senior researcher of the department “ South Azerbaijan folklore” of the Institute Qiymat Maharramli also took part at the meeting.
