The project “Epos Evenings” dedicated to Ashug creativity will be organized
On the 18th of April by the joint support of ANAS Institute of Folklore and the International Mugham Center will be organized a new project “Epos Evenings”.
The project, which will be implemented at the International Mugham Center, includes samples of ashug art and oral poetry, considered to be the most important spheres of oral folk literature.
Within the framework of the project, art lovers will be presented with a number of samples of Azerbaijan eposes performed by famous representatives of modern ashug art.
The project, whose goal is to create a broad picture of the performance of eposes and its propaganda, also serves as a demonstration of the artistic, technical and melo-poetic features of the wealth of contemporary Azerbaijan Ashug art.
It should be noted that, Ashug art is a unique event, possessing ancient historical roots of Azerbaijani folk art. He went through various stages in the history of development and united the values of non-material culture. In 2009 the Azerbaijan Ashug art entered the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO.
