The event dedicated to the Memorial Day of Heydar Aliyev was held
at the Institute of Folklore
On the 8th of December in 2022 the Institute of Folklore ANAS hosted an event on the day of remembrance of national leader Heydar Aliyev. The event was opened with the speech by the General Director of the Institute, academician Mukhtar Kazimoglu-Imanov. Academician noted that Heydar Aliyev is one of the few persons with special services in the history of statehood of Azerbaijan. It was from 1969, when the Great Leader came to power in the Republic that important steps were taken for the security of Azerbaijan and the integrity of our lands. Due to Heydar Aliyev’s initiative, perseverance, effort and foresight, a special military school was opened in Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijani language gained the status of the state language within the limited capabilities of the Soviet four. The scientist noted that the solution of the fateful issues of the state formed an integral part of Heydar Aliyev’s policy in the field of culture, art, economy, science and education back in Soviet times. Academician noted that the Institute of Folklore of ANAS is directly connected with the name of Heydar Aliyev. Thus, Folklore Scientific and Cultural Center established in 1994 was founded in 2003 under Aliyev’s presidency with his recommendation, received the status of an institute. At the end of his speech, the academician stressed that the period of our victory in the second Karabakh war, that is, the construction of the army and the economic development that allowed it, was also thrown during the presidency of Heydar Aliyev. After the opening speech, a video clip prepared by the Folklore Studio of the Institute on the national leader was demonstrated.
Later, the researcher of the Institute Mahir Javadli spoke about Heydar Aliyev’s activities as the founder of modern Azerbaijani statehood. PhD, associate professor Ilhama Gasabova mentioned Heydar Aliyev as a great personality who attaches special importance to the national culture and science of the Azerbaijani people. PhD, associate professor Shakir Albaliyev spoke about the Great Leader’s love for Azerbaijan, his commitment to our mental values as an Azerbaijani, his important role in creating stability in the country using the institution of elders.
