The researcher from the South Azerbaijan visited the Institute of Folklore
On the 2nd of August the researchers Ehsan Gasemkhani and Mehdi Ali visited the Institute of Folklore. Executive director of the Institute, PhD in philology, Associate Professor Afag Khurramgizi greeted the guests warmly and gave detailed information about the activities and work of the Institute. The researcher from the South Azerbaijan E.Gasemkhani said that the main purpose of his visit was to get acquainted with the work done in Azerbaijan on the folklore of South Azerbaijan. Executive director, Associate Professor Afag Khurramgizi noted that the Department of South Azerbaijan folklore operated at the Institute of Folklore in connection with this issue, the main research direction of this department was the study of folklore samples collected from the south, their systematization in terms of content, attitude and idea, transliteration of the collections of South Azerbaijan folklore and so on. Continuing with her ideas the Executive Director A.Khurramgizi also mentioned that the department had published 12 volumes of “South Azerbaijan folklore” book. During the conversation, the researcher from the South also noted that the published Arag folklore consisting of four volumes and spoke about the current state of folklore in the South Azerbaijan. The researcher Mehdi Ali and the employee of the South Azerbaijan folklore department of the Institute Sabuhi Badalov also exchanged views on the issue. At the end the guests were presented with publications and discs of the Institute of Folklore in this direction and memorable photos were taken.
