“Gorgud” Folklore Ensemble participated in the V International Kharibulbul festival in Shusha
The 5th International Kharibulbul Festival was held in Shusha – the cultural capital of Azerbaijan. Folklore ensembles from different regions of Azerbaijan, as well as in foreign countries participated in the festival. On the third and last day of the festival the ensemble “Gorgud” of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS also participated with a composition. Artistic director of the ensemble, Honored Artist of the Republic, mugam singer Nuriyya Huseynova presented a musical composition called “This is the Motherland!” in the spirit of national patriotism. It is necessary to note that the lyrics of the song belong to Dilsuz Mustafayev and the music belongs to Javanshir Guliyev. The words of the composition were “Azerbaijan” poem by Nusrat Kasemenli, recited by the ensemble actress Halimat Sultan.
Professional musicians and artists participating in the festival, as well as many intellectuals praised the composition presented by the ensemble. The members of the ensemble returned from the trip with good impressions. It should be noted that national dances, as well as the art of mugham were presented at the festival. Videos of Azerbaijani singers’ performances in Shusha were shown.
