Folk ensemble “Gorgud” gave a concert
for veterans of the Great Patriotic War
On the 4th of March in 2022 the International Mugam Center hosted a concert program entitled “Novruz is coming, spring is coming” presented by the folk ensemble “Gorgud” of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS. At the concert organized for veterans of the Great Patriotic War General Director of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS Academician Mukhtar Kazimoglu-Imanov congratulated the participants on the upcoming International Women’s Day and Novruz holiday. He said that one of our most significant holidays was the victory in the 44-day Patriotic War. This holiday is the end of our 30 years of hardship, despair and hopelessness. At the end of his speech M.Kazimoglu-Imanov reminded that the folklore ensemble “Gorgud” of the Folklore Institute not only demonstrated professional art, but also performed purposeful, national-spirited programs from time to time.
After the academician’s speech the folk ensemble “Gorgud” performed an extensive concert program. The artistic director of the ensemble, Honored Artist of the Republic, mugam singer Nuriyya Huseynova, Ashiq Solmaz Kosayeva, soloists Ashur Adigozalov, Ulviya Sadagat, Halimat Sultan and Chilenay Huseynova performed interesting patriotic songs.
At the end of the concert the members of the ensemble took photos with veterans. The concert was attended by about 50 veterans of the Second Karabakh War.
