The collaborators of the Institute of Folklore took part at the international conference
During the 9th-11th of October in 2017 the international conference “Folk culture in the Caucasus” was held in Kars city of Turkey. The conference was organized by the Ashug Literature and Art Investigation Centre of Kars Caucasus University which celebrated its 25th jubilee. Let’s note that the Centre is leaded by the Azerbaijani scientist professor Rafig Imrani. At the conference there were about 150 scientists from foreign countries such as Turkey, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iran, Iraq, France, Russian, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan. They reported articles in 20 sections about the folk culture, language and literature, folklore, music, traditions and customs in the Caucasus. The collaborators of the Institute of Folklore such as Ph.D., assistant professor Sonmaz Abbasli’s article “Wedding traditions in Garabag” and Ph.D. Tajir Gurbanov’s article “The folk song “Apardi seller Sarani” and the epos “Khan Choban” were met interestingly. At the conference the chairman of the Unity of Azerbaijan Ashugs, professor Maharram Gasimli, the collaborator of the Institute of History ANAS Nazim Mustafa, the collaborator of the Institute of Linguistics Gatiba Vagifgizi, associate professors from Baku State University Etibar Talibli and Leyla Garayzade, the poet Sohrab Abdulla, the journalist Sakhavat Sahil also took part. At the end of the conference Ankara State Turk Folk Musical Chorus, the famous group of Iran “Dalga” and the dancing group “Meskhetian” showed their performances.”
