On the 2nd of May in 2017 the elections were held for active and corresponding membership of ANAS. According to the order of Presidium of ANAS the vacant seats have been announced for active and corresponding membership of ANAS, 29 nominees for active membership, 143 nominees for corresponding membership of ANAS.

The director of the Institute of Folklore ANAS, the corresponding member of ANAS, Professor Mukhtar Kazimoglu Imanov was elected as the active member of ANAS, the chairman of the department “Folklore and written literature”, Doctor of Sciences, professor Kamran Aliyev was elected the corresponding member of ANAS.
