The 20th jubilee of the department “Folklore of Turkic nations”

The department “Folklore of Turkic nations” began to act as the department “Comparative folklore-study” in the Folklore Scientific-Cultural Centre in 1996. In 2002 Folklore Scientific-Cultural Centre continued its activity as the Institute of Folklore at the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences with the order of the late President of Azerbaijan Republic Haydar Aliyev. But the department “Comparative folklore-study” performed its activity as the department “Folklore of Turkic nations”.

In 2017 the department “Folklore of Turkic nations” celebrated the 20th jubilee of its activity. In the ceremony the director of the Institute, the correspondent member of the ANAS Mukhtar Kazimoglu Imanov, the deputy-director Ph.D. Oruj Aliyev, Ph.D. Rza Kalilov, Doctor of Sciences Afzaladdin Asgar, Doctor of Sciences Almaz Huseynova and other scientific workers took part. During the ceremony the correspondent member of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences spoke about the successful activity of the department, congratulated the chairman of the department Doctor of Sciences Afzaladdin Asgar with his getting scientific degree and estimated the activity of the department very much. The chairman of the department Doctor of Sciences Afzaladdin Asgar also spoke about the important events of the department happened during 20 years and gave information about the future plans of the department.
