The book “Shaki folklore samples” (the 3rd volume) was published at the ANAS Institute of Folklore. The book surrounds the folklore materials collected from the Goynuk district of Shaki. This volume is the second book among the published books which has been dedicated not to the whole region, but to the district (The first book was “Shaki folklore samples”). Like other books collected from our regions this book also has peculiarities. The book begins with the part “Mythological text, legend and rumors”. Majority of the materials included into this part are the religious texts. The tales and the jokes are more among the texts.

   In the part of “Jokes” one can see the traditional joke heroes such as Molla Nasraddin, Bahlul Dananda, including the comical people of the Goynuk district. Some “lies” have also been included to this part. One of the peculiarities of the book is the information about the games. This information is valuable as it creates the definite description in investigators and readers. The other part of the materials is “Sayings”. To collect proverbs and sayings demands the long time, attention and patience. In the book the collecting dates are also given. At the end of the book there is “Dialectological vocabulary”. The collector and compiler of the materials is the Ph.D., associate professor Laman Vagifgizi.
