Scientific workers of the Institute of Folklore took part in International Khaja Ahmad Yasavi Symposium
During the 26th-28th of September in 2016 the symposium “International Khaja Ahmad Yasavi” was held in Istanbul. About 130 scientists from different countries took part in the symposium. Representatives of the Institute of Folklore ANAS Aynur Jalilova (Ahmad Yasavi and Sufism in Azerbaijan folk literature), Ali Shamil (“Prohibition of investigation about Khoja Ahmad Yasavi and reasons of shooting his investigators”) and Aynur Gazanfargizi (“The importance of the religious school Yakhsay in spreading Ahmad Yasavi’s thoughts in Dagistan”) took part in the symposium with their reports. Some scientists from Azerbaijan such as Abulfaz Azimli, Ph.D. Nazakat Mammadli, Ph.D. Saadat Shikhiyeva, Prof. Almaz Binnatova took part in the symposium. At the same time the chairman of the Azerbaijan Writers’ Unity, the writer Anar also took part in the opening meeting of the symposium. During the symposium 28 meetings were held in three halls. The second part of the symposium will be held in October in Kazakhstan.
